How My Life Changed As I Went To Buy Kerosine For My Mother - Omobaba

In a chat with Saturday Beats, the comedian who doubles as a singer said that his life changed while he was going to buy kerosene for his mother.

He explained that while he was on his way, he saw an opportunity to showcase his talent and he embraced it.

Omobaba said, “The first time I ever performed in public, it was an open field concert that was organised by different churches and they invited choristers from different churches. I was not billed to perform because my parents actually sent me to buy kerosene.

I saw them setting up on my way to get the kerosene, then I approached them and asked if I could perform as a comedian but they said that it was strictly music. I told them to allow me to sing even though I did not come with my band; they said that I could perform comedy for five minutes instead and if they found out I was not funny, they would cut me off. I eventually performed for 20 minutes that day,” he said.

The comedian who prides himself as being the finest entertainer in the country further said that things had not been always rosy for him because the next time he had an opportunity to perform, instead of being paid, he had to pay the organisers.

“The truth is that the next time I had the opportunity to perform, I was not paid; in fact, I paid the organisers of the show about N500 for them to allow me to perform. Eventually, during the course of my career when I started getting paid, I was given N400.

I thank God for my life because I made my first million before I turned 27 years old. The money was paid in two instalments for the same gig,” he said.

Chinese Men Interpreting Their Movies In Yoruba Will Destroy Our Culture - Jide Kosoko

Legendary actor, Jide Kosoko is currently unhappy with the infiltration of Chinese and Indians in the movie industry. In his words, these nationals would only destroy our culture.

He said, “One thing people are not talking about is an alarming trend happening in our movie industry now. It is a major challenge that I would want to address because people are not talking about it.

This problem is getting bigger than piracy and the government should please look into it. We heard that the Chinese people are bringing in their films but they lip sync Yoruba language. That means that you could be watching a Chinese film but they would be speaking Yoruba language. There are also Indian movies like that.

This trend would destroy our culture. It means that whenever our children watch these movies, they would believe that whatever is done there is part of the Yoruba culture. It is something that the government must quickly look into. Also, it would dent our economy because they would take our money away.

When they are bringing in these films into our country, it is a complete job so they are not employing anybody here. They are only here to collect our money. We all know that the moment Chinese people enter any industry, it is finished.”

DMX In Tax Evasion Soup!!!

DMX has just being slapped with 14 counts of tax evasion, and he's already surrendered to law enforcement.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in NYC says DMX has concealed his income for several years and is now about $1.7 million in the red to the IRS.

According to the indictment, DMX had cash pouring in during the early 2000s from a slew of hits. The feds even name checked "X Gon' Give It to Ya" in the docs.

They say he was avoiding using personal bank accounts, using accounts of surrogates -- including business managers -- and lived mostly on cash.

According to the documents, when DMX appeared on 'Couples Therapy' he was supposed to be paid $125,000 -- but when he got his initial check the proper taxes had been withheld ... which didn't sit well with him. The feds say he went back to producers and demanded a new check for the full amount ... which he got.

In the indictment, prosecutors say he listed his income in 2011 and 2012 as "unknown" ... when in reality he'd made $353k and $542k, respectively. In 2013, he finally did report income ... of $10k. That number was a little off, according to feds, who say he actually hauled in $250k that year.

If DMX is convicted on all 14 counts, he's looking at 44 years in federal lockup. He turned himself in yesterday evening, and will be officially indicted this morning before a judge
